My Journey to ECU

We've put together a step-by-step checklist to make your journey even smoother.

1. Accept your offer

Accepting your ECU offer is easy! Go to My Uni Start and follow the steps. This is where you can activate your account,  and more.

2. Apply for a student visa

After you have accepted and paid your offer, ECU will issue an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE). Once you have that, it's time to apply for a student visa. Please make sure your passport is valid for at least six months prior to your arrival to Australia.

For returning ECU students, a valid visa must be held before entering Australia. You can check visa expiry date and visa conditions in VEVO (Visa Entitlement Verification Online system). If it is expiring or has expired, please get in contact with your agent asap.

3. Provide proof of vaccination

Ensure you retain proof of TGA approved vaccination against COVID-19.

4. Book flights

WA Government has launched International Student Travel Portal in partnership with a WA-based travel agent. These flights are negotiated deals and often refundable. Please explore flights from this site and compare to what your local travel agent could offer. Through the student travel portal, international students can also access:
  • Discounted flights and increased luggage allowances
  • Specific information on entry requirements
  • Help from a travel agent if needed
  • If you cannot find a flight that suits you, please feel free to consult a student travel agent available online through the portal.

5. Book your accommodation

  • ECU has excellent on-campus accommodation on all three campuses, making it a convenient option for international students.
  • Off-campus Student Accommodation also available through private providers.
  • Students can also choose to home-stay a private home with an Australian family.
  • Students and families often rent out furnished spare rooms in their houses and apartments. Use websites such as Flatmates or Student.com to search for rooms for rent in Perth.

6. Apply for G2G Pass to enter Western Australia

All arrivals into WA will require an approved G2G Pass. The platform is easy to use, and even easier with these tips:

  • To support your application, please download your ECU Certificate of Enrolment form SIMO by going to the many link under the enrolment section.
  • If needed, you can amend your flight details after G2G Pass has been approved by logging back in with your credentials.
